TippyTalk allows a verbally disabled people or people suffering from autism to interpret, communicate and express their desires, needs, wants and their feelings by interpreting pictures into messages, which gets transmitted to the family members or caretaker’s phone or tablet.

images-1How TippyTalk Works? The app allows the family member or the caretaker to click images that are recognizable and familiar to the person living with the autistics or verbally disabled people. You just simply click an image of the object, place or person and assign appropriate text to it. You can also record your voice over each image to help the disable people to identify the voice and understand the message. This system of communication is not barred with the distance of people staying with disabled. They can interact with their family member or caretakers all over the world.

images-2The Reason behind this Innovation: Rob Laffan, an engineering student at the Limerick Institute of Technology (LIT) in Ireland, is a father of Sadie, a 5-year-old child who’s in the non-verbal autism spectrum. Rob Laffan just wanted nothing else than to aid his daughter so that she can express her feelings and interact with her father. When she learned to use picture exchange communication system (PECS) board – a tool of communication for non-verbal and autistic people to indicate a picture via a picture book and expresses their wants and needs. Then, he thought of creating an app that will allow her to select images on the display which will be converted automatically into text and send it as a message to him. Rob Laffan named this app as “TIPPYTALK” which is a touchscreen communication and interaction systems that take a PECS board to a desktop, phone or tablet and then converts the images to text and now his daughter Sadie uses this app for communicating with him whenever and wherever he is.

TippyTalk is a very unique and helpful app for verbally disabled people because now onwards nobody will be restricted to communicate with the same room of people. Communication, independence, and social involvement have been increased and promoted by this innovating app, while it also reduces frustration and irritation of the disabled and the members residing with them.

imagesFor instance, the app in available on android as well IOS and there is a trial period of 30 days which is free and after the trail gets over, subscription charges will be applied and there are no such contracts for continuation after the trial period, you can cancel anytime. You will be charged only if you subscribe after 30 days of trial period.
